Conservation papers

A little selection of special paper for restauration and binding. Also called Japanese paper or Serpente. These papers fulfill highest ageing resistence requirements and with regard to composition & PH-value they are excellently suitable in the fields of restoration, archiving and conservation. In our shop located in paris we offer a wide spectrum of grammages, a gradation concerning white shades as well as different price and qualtiy ranges (f.e. 100 % Japan Kozo / 100 % Thai Kozo/ Gampi, Mitsumata etc). You will find also Korean and Chinese paper.

Japanese Hingings paper - thin : Paper made in Japan for conservation. Made of unbleached Kozo fibre. The tissue is specially manufactured with parallel "tear lines" that allow you to form perfect deckled-edge, hand torn, Japanese hinges. The tear lines are arranged at various distances apart, to form hinges from 6mm wide to 23mm wide, to the full width of the sheet. Available in lightweight 12gsm for photographs and light artwork, or 20gsm for heavier work. Applied easily with wheat or rice starch to make sound conservation quality hinges.
